The trek to Makalu base camp visits one of the
most remote and unfrequented areas of Nepal.
It is an ideal trek for those with the time
and desire to experience lifestyle of different
ethnic people and the cultures, to view incredible
range of landscapes from mountain to glacial
terrain. We follow the Arun River, pass through
the beautiful villages of Sedua and Num from
where we will have a nice view of Makalu (8,438

The
trek through Rolwaling has everything that trekking
in the Himalayan has to offer. The trek starts
from Charikot and initially goes through the
lower valleys flanked by terraced fields, farmhouses
and forested slopes. The higher valleys of Rolwaling
are inhabited by the Sherpa people who cultivate
maize, barley, potatoes and graze their yaks
in the higher valleys below the snow-capped
peaks. Above the villages of Beding and Na the
route comes to the glaciated valleys where lines
glacier lakes like Tso Rolpa. After the ascent
of Ramdung we will cross the Tasi Lapcha Pass
(5,755 m/18,875 ft) to Namche Bazaar on the
Everest Base Camp route. From Namche we head
towards Lukla to make fly to Kathmandu.

AZTE-020:
Dhaulagiri Empire |
|
It is a long trekking tour to the foot of the
Dhaulagiri which takes us to the base camp of
the White Goddess or Dhaulagiri. We go through
the farming lands till Beni and then follow the
course of Myagdi Khola which goes into the very
center of the Dhaulagiri massif enjoying the first
views of the impressive eastern wall of mountain
in the meantime. Once we get to the camp we see
the gigantic northern wall as well as the Dhaulagiri,
I, III and IV carrying on through the French Pass
(5,360 m) and end in the valley of Kali Gandaki,
Marpha and Jomsom. Highland lovers will find this
an ideal trekking tour for they will encounter
no population at all during certain stages.

The
trek around Manaslu is one of the classic treks
in Nepal. The trail up the Budhi Gandaki is one
of the most difficult routes in Nepal and there
is huge amount of climbing as you trek up and
down over ridges and onto shelves to bypass cliffs.
The trail is rough and steep and it offers literally
hangs on a bluff high above the river and many
bridges. This trek is geographically spectacular
and culturally fascinating.
